We have a team of 42 babies that are ready for basic roadwork. They are training well around the loft and range well. A minimum of one hour loft training has been accomplished and thus they are in our opinion ready for the road.
The plan is to toss them up to 30km just to lay a good foundation for the main season. The muscles will develop nicely.
We like to make homers out of them (contrary to some fanciers that believe to jump pigeons to vast distances as a first toss). The first tosses are really just to get them used to the baskets and thus limit stress and slip ups.
Below is the route we plan to follow. 10 tosses up to 30km. Repetition to imprint the landscape and hopefully teach them to break early during the main season.
